Kunstwerke der Sogder in China |

Noch nicht lange bekannt ist, dass sogdische Exilanten während des 6. und frühen 7. Jh.s eine Reihe kultur- und kunstgeschichtlich hochbedeutsamer Grabdenkmäler in China hinterließen. Die sogdischen Grabinhaber, darunter Beamte wie An Jia (An Qie) und Wirkak, ließen Grabreliefs mit Szenenfolgen biografischen und religiösen Inhalts anfertigen. Das gilt auch für Yu Hong, der zwar offenbar selbst kein Sogder, sondern türkischer Herkunft war, dessen marmorne Reliefs aber stark sogdisch geprägt sind.
